National Standards for Headteachers - DfES-0083-2004

The newly revised National Standards for Headteacher, ref DfES-0083-2004, were published 4 October 2004. The Standards set out the professional knowledge, understanding and attributes necessary to carry out headship in the 21st Century. They define the expertise demanded of heads in order to achieve targets and objectives. The National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) is underpinned by the National Standards.
