School improvement partners

The National College is undertaking a joint consultation with the DCSF on the new role for school improvement partners (SIPs) following the publication of the white paper, Your child, your school, our future: Building a 21st century schools system.

We would like our key stakeholders to join us at one of three regional consultation conferences taking place in spring 2010 in London, Birmingham and Nottingham. These events, and your involvement in them, will help to shape the future of the SIP role. We are looking for individuals from the following groups to participate:

  • current or former headteachers
  • accredited SIPs
  • members of professional associations
  • governors
  • LA representatives.

The DCSF is enhancing the current SIP model and has asked the National College to develop this new approach, and the associated accreditation and CPD arrangements. These changes represent a considerable opportunity.

Your views are vital to the development of the SIP role and we very much hope that you can join with other stakeholders who have been invited to attend.

Register your interest on the National Colleges website.
