The Great Books survey

Teachers, students and educationalists are invited to vote online for the book which has most inspired them about teaching and learning, or which in their opinion has had the most significant impact on the profession.

Dr Dennis Hayes of Canterbury Christ Church University has started things off with a list of 40 influential books: from Plato's Republic to Sue Palmer's Toxic Childhood; from Rousseau's Emile to John Holt's How Children Fail.

If your top choice is not on the list you can even add it yourself.

The survey doesn't close until Friday 2 November 2007.

All comments on what makes your choice the greatest book are welcomed and the best responses will be featured in programmes on Teachers TV.

You are now invited to vote online.
