Education Partnerships secure funding

Education Partnerships are set to benefit from the new method of Aimhigher Funding distribution, under new decisions announced today on the funding arrangements for the Aimhigher Programme for the period 2006 to 2008.

Under the new system of funding, schools Aimhigher funding is determined by local partnerships of schools, colleges and universities, and paid in the form of a separate grant. Effective partnership working remains at the heart of the Aimhigher ethos. This new process is intended to make sure that schools continue to provide high standards of outreach work, while ensuring that they are not overburdened administratively.

Higher Education Minister Bill Rammell and Schools Minister Jacqui Smith said that the Government and its partners had considered carefully how best to distribute Aimhigher funding in light of the New Relationship with Schools and the realignment of the overall Aimhigher budget.
