Over �1 billion funding for new buildings and extra school places

Secretary of State for Children Schools and Families, Ed Balls, and Schools Minister, Vernon Coaker, have confirmed that the Government will provide �300 million to provide extra primary school pupil places in local authorities across the country.

They also announced the next phase of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) Programme. 11 LAs will share �800 million to refurbish or rebuild secondary schools.
