Implementing the DDA in schools
A new resource provides guidance on implementing the Disability Discrimination Act in schools and early years settings.
It consists of a boxed ring binder which includes a CD ROM with PDFs and Word files of all the materials for accessibility purposes. These files include: an interactive template and framework, resources to support access plans and strategies and early years access planning, training materials to support all sections of the resource, and background information to the projects which developed the resource.
This publication also provides a guide to the duties in the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act). This includes an account of how the DDA duties fit with the SEN duties and the planning duties and it provides more detail on the definition of disability used in the DDA.
