Guidance on planning for a human flu pandemic

The DfES, in consultation with other government departments and  external partners, has produced guidance documents to help schools and other bodies plan for a human flu pandemic. This is part of the Governments coordinated efforts to encourage prudent planning across all sectors, in preparing and planning for a possible human flu pandemic.

The first priority in a pandemic would be the welfare of children. This guidance supports planning for schools, as well as childcare settings and other childrens services.  There is separate guidance available for further education colleges and higher education institutions, as well as brief information for parents.

Further guidance on specific issues will follow, and this will be reviewed regularly.
