DfES Capability Review published

The DfES has been involved in the first stage of a cross-Government programme to assess the capability of Government departments to deliver on long-term aims and identify improvements that are needed for the future.

The three themes of the review are leadership, strategy and delivery. The review has looked at both internal and external issues, including staff management, planning, delivery capacity and the way the Department works with its partners.

The report published today details the outcomes of the team's findings. In response to the report, the DfES has published an implementation plan setting out the swift actions that will be taken to meet the issues raised by the review.
