National Poetry Day competition

To celebrate National Poetry Day, and this years theme of 'identity', the Poetry Society and poet Jackie Kay are offering secondary schools across the country the chance to win a day with one of Britain's most popular poets and explore through poetry what identity means.

Secondary schools not only get the chance to win Jackie Kay for the day but also to set the agenda. Each school entering has to explain (in no more than 300 words) why they think they should win and how they intend to work with Jackie to explore the issues around identity.  The deadline for submissions is 25 September.

If you would like to participate, go to the National Poetry Day website and click on 'win Jackie Kay for a day:
