The next termly School Census takes place in September 2006 for Secondary schools. From January 2007 it will be extended to include other school settings such as Primary and special schools.

School Census September 2006
Secondary schools, CTCs and Academies are reminded that the deadline for School Census returns to be with DfES is 18 October 2006.  However, as the majority of schools involved are LA-maintained, they should bear in mind that their LAs will want to see school returns before this date prior to passing them to the DfES. Schools should, therefore, check with their LA School Census contact on precise return arrangements for their LA.
 
School Census from January 2007
All maintained schools, CTCs, Academies, non-maintained special schools and direct grant nurseries are required to provide three School Census returns per year. As Primary and special schools will be new to the School Census and termly returns, they may want to check with their LA School Census contact on support available for this change to data collection arrangements.
