The Active citizens in schools and beyond toolkit is designed for secondary schools and for people working with young people. It offers a variety of practical and creative ideas to promote active citizenship by young people. 
 
It is based on the recognition that by understanding what schools and youth workers have to offer and working together, the benefits to all parties can be increased and learning that takes place beyond school can be recognised and enhanced.   

The toolkit builds on the ACiS programme piloted by Changemakers and ContinYou. Further guidance on workshops or lessons which can be used to encourage exploration and generate ideas for action is available on the Changemakers website.
