The DfES is establishing an excellence hub in each Government Office region to provide year-round out-of-school learning opportunities for gifted and talented young people, prioritising those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Each hub is an HE-led consortium linked closely to the existing regional partnerships for gifted and talented education. Hubs will provide year-round learning opportunities of various kinds, including summer and holiday activities.
