Understanding slavery resources and competition

To mark the bicentenary of the Act for the Abolition of the Slave Trade in the British Empire, the DfES and Understanding Slavery are launching an important learning resource and national competition.

This will be an inspiring opportunity for your KS3 students to explore many of the complex issues surrounding the legacies of the transatlantic slave trade, through museum collections.
A new digital-learning resource and printed pack will offer schools the opportunity to include the subject in Citizenship, and other subjects such as History, and to enter the resulting work produced by students into an exciting national competition.

Take part, register and get a free copy of the new Citizen resource as well as information about The Big Conversation 2007. Register by emailing [email protected]  or telephoning 0844 8002620.
