Funding announced for text messaging to beat absence

On 29 March 2007 Schools Minister Jim Knight announced new money for text messaging systems to help schools with the highest levels of absence.

The DfES is currently working with Becta (British Educational Communications and Technology Agency) who are leading this work. However, at the present time no further details are available on the delivery of text messaging systems to schools. Any queries should be directed to Becta by telephoning 024 7641 6994.
