Education in Africa week runs from 23 to 29 July. The programmes feature exclusive interviews and take British teachers directly into African classrooms.

The Jonathan Dimbleby Big Interview � Meles Zenawi Jonathan Dimbleby has unprecedented access and an exclusive interview with Meles Zenawi, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, who is widely recognised as a social reformer, especially in the area of education. The interview explores what the rest of Africa can learn from his policies as well as confronting the country's poor record on human rights.
Improving Teaching, Changing Lives � VSO in Ethiopia This documentary explores VSO's ground-breaking project for training teachers in Ethiopia. The charity has devised a new teacher-training qualification and works closely with the Ministry of Education to implement the scheme across the country, improving the education of over 800,000 children.
Africa Goes Digital ICT is revolutionising our society. It's impossible to think of life now without computers, the Internet, satellites and mobile phones. It is turning our world into a global village. But one continent is in danger of being left out of this digital revolution: Africa, a continent where peace, security and poverty-reduction are amongst the complex issues governments are struggling with.
