Teachers TV Sport Relief Week

The Big Challenge

In this exciting and adrenaline-fuelled three-part series, teaching staff agree to attempt a sporting challenge to raise money for Sport Relief, without having any idea what the challenges are going to involve. We follow them as they discover their fate, embark on an intensive training programme and then have to complete the challenge in front of their schools. Their challenges include learning the art of circus acrobatics, completing a military assault course and mastering the game of polo.

School Matters: Education for All - Halfway There?

At the start of the new millennium, the international community agreed there must be education for all by 2015. This programme looks at the impact that's been made halfway to the target. We see how physical and cultural barriers are being overcome to deliver education in the remotest and poorest communities in the world, including nomadic children in the Himalayas and young people in Uganda and Senegal. At the end of 2007, nations from around the globe gathered to assess progress and decide on what needs to be done next. We follow the conference and discover whether there is enough political will and sufficient development funds to ensure that Education for All becomes a reality and not just a slogan

KS3 Attainment Raising Aspirations with Sport Relief

King Edward VI School in Bury St Edmunds has adopted a whole-school approach to raising attainment and have turned to the resources from the Sport Relief campaign to help. Schools standards adviser Val McGregor supports this idea and looks at an English and RE lesson to see how the Sport Relief campaign - along with case studies of 15-year-old Martin from Belfast and 12-year-old Jessica from Brazil - demonstrates how teens can rise above their circumstances.

The Teaching Challenge: Ade Adepitan

Ade Adepitan is celebrated for his medal-winning wheelchair basketball skills in the Paralympics and the World Cup. In a moving, inspirational and humorous programme, Ade teaches 12-year-old pupils the fundamentals of the game. It's a great moment for one pupil, Cameron, who has previously found that as a wheelchair user he was sometimes ignored by his fellow pupils on the sports field.
