Summer 2008 on Teachers TV
These programmes include advice on simple steps schools can take to help protect the planet, teen issues and overviews of how good performance management can contribute to school improvement. In addition, there is a wide selection of programmes addressing the Every Child Matters agenda and some stories to help start the new school year on a high.
Highlights across the schools holidays include:
Protecting the Planet: 4 � 10 August Climate Change can be a vast and complex topic to understand. This week on Teachers TV we explore our surroundings and look at how schools and communities are tackling the issue.
Teen Matters: 11 � 17 August A week of programmes exploring some of the issues teenagers face today, such as managing problems with stress, eating disorders and peer pressure.
Every Child Matters Week: 18 � 24 August A week of programmes exploring how some schools have responded to the challenge of working within a multi-agency framework and the measures they have taken to ensure their pupils have the opportunity to achieve to the very best of their ability.
School Improvement Week: 25 � 31 August Programmes considering how school leaders, teachers, governors and support staff can all contribute to school improvement and help their pupils achieve better results. Start the Year on a High: 1 � 7 September A week devoted to showcasing the most inspirational programmes from the last school year as selected by our viewers.
