Gifted and Talented (G&T) education

Andrew Adoniss letter is summarised below and available to read in full via the weblink at the foot of this page. Headteachers are urged to:

  • Complete the G&T question in the School Census
  • Ensure they identify a broadly representative G&T population distribute to all identified G&T learners and their parents the information packs they have received about the Young Gifted and Talented (YG&T) Learner Academy
  • Register their G&T Leading Teacher with the Academy and validate eligible learners as members
  • Appoint a suitable G&T Leading Teacher if they have not done so and ensure that s/he is improving whole school provision using the G&T Quality Standards

He also wrote to LAs requesting their support in securing these outcomes.
