Live education Guardian blog

Ann Henderson and Andre Imich, Senior Advisers for SEN, the National Strategies and Philippa Stobbs and Gareth Keen, Department for Children Schools and Families will discuss issues including:

  • What do schools need to do?
  • Who can help them?
  • What can parents expect?
  • What can children expect?

The Disability Equality Duty (DED) requires all schools to take a proactive approach in promoting disability equality and eliminating discrimination. Schools must involve disabled people who are affected by the way the school is organised for example, disabled pupils, their parents or carers, disabled staff, disabled parents and carers, and other disabled users of the school.

To participate in this live blogging session go to the Education Guardian website and click on the link entitled: Children with disabilities: what can schools do? Questions can be posted on this website from now and up until 2pm on 3 June. Further information is also available in the flyer below.
