Eat Better, Do Better

The guidance has been designed to complement a range of existing resources on healthy eating in schools, and focuses upon:

  • the scope of the healthy eating component of the Healthy Schools programme
  • how to improve school food using a whole-school approach
  • how to put in practical steps to achieve healthy eating in a range of diverse settings
  • details of the school food standards and how they should be implemented in special schools.

Eat Better, Do Better: A practical guide to adopting a Whole School Approach to food in special schools will be sent to all special schools, local and regional healthy school coordinators from 8 June 2009.
