Updated timeline for performance management

On 21 September 2006, Schools Minister Jim Knight announced an updated timeline for the introduction of performance management requirements for schools and local authorities. The revised arrangements for teachers and head teachers performance management need to be in place by autumn 2007.

This revised timeline offers a greater opportunity for schools and local authorities to plan and prepare over the course of this school year. The revised arrangements are intended to support ongoing professional development and help to secure better outcomes for pupils.
