So You Want To Be A Head
Against the backdrop of a recruitment crisis, Jo Owen entrepreneur, author and business speaker returns to Teachers TV with a new series looking at the demands of the top job in education.  Across this four-part series, Jo puts three deputy heads and an assistant headteacher through their paces, to see if they have what it takes to reach the next step on the career ladder.

School Matters: Unqualified Success?
PriceWaterhouseCoopers recently published a report for the DCSF suggesting that the state sector should consider allowing applicants without teaching qualifications to take up headships. This programme investigates the controversial proposals and looks at whether appointing 'chief executives' with no teaching is a good way of turning round failing schools.

Women Leaders: One Headteacher, One Day
'All Different All Equal' is the slogan on the walls of George Green School in east London. This programme follows headteacher Kenny Frederick as she does her best to put this into practice amongst 1200 pupils and 200 staff.

Women Leaders: Talking Women Heads
Five successful female headteachers talk about how they got where they are, how they've stayed there, issues of pay, industrial tribunals and the other challenges of the top job.

What If? Meet the Parents
Handling parents is one of the trickiest parts of a teacher's life, but can a parent be turned from a foe to a friend or at the very least, an ally? Mike Baker puts forward an imaginary case study involving two challenging families to an expert panel to see how they would cope with the provocation of some parents.

These programmes and more are available to stream and download online for free. For more information and supporting resources please visit the Teachers TV website.

Teachers TV is available 24 hours a day on Sky Guide 880, Virgin TV 240 and Homechoice 845; and on Freeview 88 between 4:00 5:00 pm.
