Safeguarding Children Week on Teachers TV

Highlights this week include:

Four True Stories
Behind the headlines and the statistics of child protection are the real stories of schools dealing with neglected and abused children. This programme reconstructs four true stories and looks at how the teachers and other professionals managed to deal with the challenges raised.

Suspected Abuse
A panel of teachers and managers respond to a case study involving six-year-old Jade who appears at school with bruising. The dilemmas arise out of determining whether Jade's bruises are the result of rough and tumble in the playground or more serious signs of abuse at home.

Safeguarding Vulnerable Children
A look at a multi-agency approach to safeguarding vulnerable children, asking how the approach works and how it can be modeled for future child protection.

Every Child Matters
This programme explores how teachers and support staff combine with outside agents in order to fully provide for vulnerable children. As part of their ECM process, a school in one of Europe's most deprived areas works with police, healthcare and social workers to increase the life chances of their pupils.

Also:
Estelle Morris meets Camila Batmanghelidjh
